Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 17,2025

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how SunnValley and Herres Photography (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from our website. By using our website, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect personal information you provide to us directly when placing an order, subscribing to emails, filling out contact forms, or interacting with our website. This may include your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment information. We also collect data automatically through cookies and tracking tools to help improve website performance and user experience.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to process transactions, fulfill orders, provide customer support, send email communications, and improve our website. We may also use your data to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

Third-Party Services

We utilize trusted third-party platforms to operate our online business. These services have their own independent privacy policies, terms of use, and data protection practices, which we do not control and for which we are not responsible.

We use WooCommerce to power our online store. Order fulfillment is handled through Printify. All product issues including cancellations, damaged goods, or returns are subject to the policies of individual Printify printers. We cannot offer refunds or replacements directly but will assist in contacting the relevant print provider on your behalf.

Payments are securely processed through Stripe. SunnValley and Herres Photography does not store or have access to your credit card information.

Our email marketing is managed via MailPoet, a plugin used to send newsletters and updates. You may unsubscribe from emails at any time by using the link provided at the bottom of each email.

Our website is hosted and secured through GoDaddy. GoDaddy provides our SSL certificate, hosting, and domain registration. All services offered by GoDaddy are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

SunnValley and Herres Photography is not responsible for the privacy practices or operations of any third-party service or provider we use to operate our business.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to provide a smoother experience, analyze site performance, and understand visitor behavior. By continuing to use our site, you consent to our use of cookies. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, but doing so may affect certain features or functions on the site.

Email and Communications

We do not sell, trade, or rent your email address or personal information to outside parties. Emails are used only to communicate order information, respond to your inquiries, and send marketing messages if you have opted in.

You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in our emails. Transactional or service-related emails related to your orders will still be sent when necessary.

Data Security

We take appropriate steps to protect your information using technical and administrative security measures. Our website uses SSL encryption to secure data transmission. However, no online transmission or storage method is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

Children’s Privacy

Our website is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or store personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete the information.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, update, or request deletion of your personal information. You can also request information about the data we hold about you and how it is used.

Comments

Suggested text: When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

Suggested text: If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

Suggested text: If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Suggested text: Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

Suggested text: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

Suggested text: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

Suggested text: If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Suggested text: Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

This policy is subject to change at any time.
